Rosacea

Couperose Frankfurt

Rosacea is a skin condition that is recognizable by redness and inflammation on the face. It mainly affects the cheeks, nose and chin, but can also occur in other areas.

The exact causes of rosacea are not yet known, but it is suspected that various factors such as genetic predisposition, immune system overreactions and certain environmental conditions may play a role. As a rule, rosacea is not dangerous to health, but if left untreated it can lead to chronic inflammation and damage to the skin.

In rare cases, rosacea can lead to secondary conditions such as eye inflammation and nasal polyps. Eye inflammation caused by rosacea can lead to pain, tearing, redness and itching, and can also affect vision. With such strong ones, it may well be necessary to be medicated.

Treatment of rosacea may vary depending on the severity of symptoms. Nevertheless, there are several laser treatments that can be used for rosacea. One possible treatment is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, which uses short flashes of light to reduce redness on the face.

The efficacy and safety of laser treatments for rosacea have been investigated in some studies, but it is recommended to consult with a dermatologist before undergoing such treatment to ensure that it is appropriate for the individual.
